Author Doug Fairhurst has put a personal slant on the trolleybuses of the UK capital - once the largest fleet of such vehicles in world and only exceeded by both Moscow and St Petersburg some year's after LT's "silent servants" had been withdrawn. He describes in detail the routes in north London he travelled on as a schoolboy and includes an interesting round-up of his own early photographs of trolleybuses in many other locations around the city.
